B'nai Tzedek Youth Philanthropy Program

Teaching the importance of Jewish philanthropy

About the Program

Are you looking for a philanthropic opportunity for your child? Now starting as early as birth, the B’nai Tzedek Youth Philanthropy Program encourages our youngest members of the community to get involved in tzedakah by establishing a fund for Jewish charitable giving.

How it Works

When you donate at least $250 to the Tidewater Jewish Foundation (TJF) to establish a fund in the name of your child, TJF will match your gift with another $250 for a starting fund balance of $500! Each year, you will continue to make a $250 gift. By the time your child is bar or bat mitzvah age, they will have a fund from which they can grant 4% to a Jewish charity of their choice, empowering your kids to take ownership of their own philanthropy—a valuable lesson we know pays off!

When the fund reaches $5,000, your child will have a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)—a lifelong resource they can use for tzedakah on their philanthropic journey. Follow the link below to get started today!
