Our Programs

Tidewater Jewish Foundation offers a range of programs to engage all ages to address the philanthropic needs of our community

  • Life & Legacy

A four-year program that assists communities to promote after-lifetime giving to benefit local Jewish day schools, synagogues, and other Jewish entities. Life & Legacy provides donors the opportunity to make a lasting impact in their community for future generations.

  • Jewish Future Promise

Jewish Future Promise is a worldwide movement calling on all Jews to make the promise that half or more of the charitable giving in their estate plan will support the Jewish people and/or the State of Israel. By making the promise, you are securing a vibrant Jewish future for generations to come.

  • One Happy Camper

The key to the Jewish future is Jewish camp. We know from research—and nearly two decades of experience—that camp is where young people find Jewish role models and create enduring Jewish friendships. It’s where they forge a lifelong connection to their essential Jewishness.

  • B’nai Tzedek Teen Philanthropy

The B’nai Tzedek Teen Philanthropy Program helps teens become involved in tzedakah. By establishing a fund for Jewish charitable giving, teens can play a part in improving the community and the world.

  • Simon Family Passport to Israel

The Simon Family Passport Israel Program provides grants to enable Jewish students (aged 13 – 22) to participate in an Israel trip experience. Funded trips include educational and peer group experiences of young people traveling and/or studying together.

  • Stein Family Scholarship

The Stein Family Scholarship is an annual grant for students that provides a scholarship of up to $10,000 a year for college tuition. Grants are awarded to Tidewater Jewish students entering college.

  • Tom Hofheimer Fund

Tom Hofheimer, of blessed memory, was a great leader in the Tidewater Jewish community. His love of Israel and its future was a guiding force until his last day.
