Tying The Knot and Making A Difference

September through October are peak wedding months, so it's little surprise that February ends the four-month window for many marriage proposals. When some clients recall the months before their weddings, they may remember traipsing to a department store to write out a gift registry that included china, crystal, and other "must-haves."

Fast-forward a generation, and this has changed! Many of today's couples prioritize experiences and community impact over "stuff." Cash for travel, events, and home improvements are popular gifts, and many registries also include a philanthropic component. As you work with clients who are getting ready to tie the knot or whose kids are planning a wedding, you might suggest that they reach out to Tidewater Jewish Foundation to explore options for setting up a donor-advised fund to receive charitable donations in lieu of wedding gifts, to launch a lifetime of giving together.

We invite you to get in touch to discuss your clients' charitable giving and explore all the options available through TJF for structuring a legacy through philanthropy.
